Kori Carew

Kori has been practicing law in the Kansas City area since earning her law degree from Drake University Law School in 2001.   She is a litigation associate with Baker, Sterchi, Cowden & Rice, L.L.C.    Her practice areas with the firm include general civil, tort liability and employment litigation.   She is member of The Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, the Association of Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, the American Bar Association, and the National Bar Association.   She has served as the Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Second Vice-president and now serves as the First Vice-president of the Jackson County Bar Association.  Kori has  also served as liaison to the ABA Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defendants, Law School Division, and served as Lieutenant Governor for Diversity for the 8th Circuit of the ABA, Law School Division.  Kori was born in Calgary, Canada, grew up in Nigeria where her family still resides and completed her college education in LeMars, Iowa where she met her husband.   She earned her undergraduate degree from Westmar University where she was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and was also very active in student leadership.
