Spotlight on
Stacy Waterkotte - St. Louis Division Receptionist
Seventh in the Series
by Melissa Pantazi
You’ve probably seen her big smile, heard her reassuring voice or noticed her
stylish wardrobe, and now you have the opportunity to learn even more about the
St. Louis Division of Workers’ Compensation receptionist, Stacy Waterkotte.
On February 4, 1983, parents David and Sandra Waterkotte welcomed Stacy Lynn
Waterkotte into the world. Little did they (or she) know that someday Stacy
would be heavily relied upon by staff, attorneys, and injured employees at the
St. Louis Division of Workers’ Compensation.
Stacy has three brothers, one of whom is her twin. At her birth, Stacy’s parents
were only expecting Stacy and instead they were blessed with twins (Stacy and
her brother Steven). Stacy is quick to point out that she is “one minute older”
than her twin brother and having three “bigger” brothers has taught her to take
care of herself since a very early age. While Stacy may have been the youngest
female in her family for many years, her “youngest” status is soon to disappear
as she awaits the arrival of the family’s first grandchild, Elle Rose Waterkotte
on August 28, 2007.
Stacy thoroughly enjoyed growing up in Oakville, Missouri where she attended
grade school at St. Francis of Assisi, high school at Notre Dame, and received
her associate’s degree at Meramec Community College. Currently, she is
completing her court reporting degree at Meramec.
She has participated in dance since she was 3 years old. She’s also quite an
athlete and has run cross country and played soccer, basketball, and volleyball
since childhood. Currently Stacy gets her workouts in by keeping up with her two
“babies” (dogs), Josephina (Joey) and Gianna (Gia). Josephina is a
three-year-old Maltese and Gianna is her new pride and joy, a three month old
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
By day, Stacy has worked at the St. Louis Division since February 2006. By
night, she is finishing court reporting school with hopes of doing freelance
work for a court reporting agency. Although she wishes work would start at 10:00
a.m., she truly enjoys her job because “there’s never a dull moment” and she
likes interacting with everyone at the Division.
So next time you’re at the Division, take a minute to say hello to Stacy. And if
you want to get a smile out of her, be sure to mention her dogs.
