The time has come for me to step down as Editor of “The
WC”. After two years, I am happy to pass this project on to Rebecca Wright at
the Assistant Attorney General’s office. Becky has been a dedicated writer for
the newsletter since it’s beginning in February 2005, and she will continue the
newsletter’s success into 2007.
“The WC” quarterly newsletter has given the workers’
compensation community the opportunity to share in the “lighter” side of the
practice of workers’ compensation law. In the past seven issues, so many
writers have contributed articles that reflect both their interests and
personalities. I am so grateful to each of the writers for their intelligence,
wit, and desire to contribute to our newsletter.
In addition, I am extremely grateful to Mary Douglas, Stephanie Webb and Bob
Stoeckl at MO BAR. They have been so pleasant to work with and have been of
great assistance in delivering a reader-friendly version of the newsletter. Many
thanks to all of them.
Finally, I must express my gratitude to Judge Carlisle for
her dedication to the workers’ compensation committee and “The WC”. As
committee leader, she had more than her fair share of responsibility, but she
always found time to contribute an article (and often times two articles) to the
newsletter. She has spent hours brainstorming with me about article ideas,
layout concepts, and ways to make each issue of the newsletter better than the
last. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to collaborate with her on
such an enjoyable project.
My goal as Editor of “The WC” was to create a newsletter
that all of us would actually enjoy reading. Through the dedication of
so many people, I feel this goal has been accomplished. I have truly enjoyed
every aspect of my responsibilities as Editor, however, I am most grateful for
the opportunity this experience has given me to interact with all of you. I
challenge and encourage everyone from the workers’ compensation community to
write at least one article for “The WC”. I believe you will find participating
in the newsletter as rewarding as I have over the past two years.
Very Truly Yours,
Melissa M. Pantazi
Attorney at Law
