Dear Dr. Comp:
Why does it take so many forms to practice in the arena of Workers'
Compensation?
S/An Overworked Attorney
Dear Overworked Attorney,
The diagnosis of your question is simple: envy. We are envious of those
states like Illinois that not only have many separate forms, but also forms in
different colors such as the classic goldenrod or the more modern light green.
Also, it is not to be forgotten that many a work comp lawyer secretly wishes to
practice in other areas of the law that have responsive pleadings and discovery.
I am afraid that this condition is beyond remedy by Dr. Comp's methods.
Remember, Dr. Comp says nothing really exists unless it is documented in the
file.
