Introducing
the St. Louis Division Court Reporters...
We meet them briefly before a hearing. We attempt to “speak clearly” and “slow
down” so as to minimize their frustration with us. Many of us even see them on a
daily basis, but do we really know the women responsible for transcribing
our words (and often mumbles) onto paper? Meet the court reporters of the St.
Louis Division of Workers’ Compensation:
Peggy Lange is the Court Reporter Supervisor at the St. Louis office. She
is also the administrative assistant and court reporter for the Chief Judge.
Peggy has been with the Division for 15 years. She also teaches court reporting
classes at St. Louis Community College at Meramec which she enjoys very much.
Peggy is married with two children, Lori who is 25 and Rico who is 21. She likes
to read books in her spare time.
Lori Sanders has been a court reporter for 20 years. She has been working
with the Division of Workers' Compensation since November of 1989. Prior to
being hired at the Division, she did some freelance work. She also worked
for the State Public Defender’s Office as a court reporter for a couple of
years.
Jennifer Jett has been a court reporter with the Division of Workers'
Compensation for 10 years. Before beginning her employment with the St. Louis
Division office, Jennifer was the court reporter for the St. Louis County Public
Defender’s office. Her favorite pastime is being with her 2-year-old niece
Kayla.
Maria Krawat has worked for the Division of Workers' Compensation for 13
years. She became a Certified Shorthand Reporter in 1994 and a Certified Court
Reporter in 2002.
Dana Bodenschatz has been a court reporter for approximately 15 years. She
has worked for the Division for almost 3 years. She lives at the Lake and works in
the St. Louis office.
Many thanks to the court reporters for sharing their background information in
this issue of “The WC”! We are fortunate to work with such experienced
reporters.
