I am qualified to comment on these areas because: Our firm exclusively represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. We have combined experience of over 150 years in this field. Our firm has been in existence since 1973. I have practiced labor and employment law exclusively for 21 years. I am on the Missouri Bar Labor Law Committee and in this capacity am responsible for putting together the annual Missouri Bar Labor and Employment Law Symposium.
Article Idea: The current labor situation between Lohr Distributing and Teamsters Local 600 has already garnered much attention, but there are aspects of this dispute that are interesting and that have not been covered adequately in the press. There is a growing influx of foreign workers into the Midwest. Employers hiring such individuals have many challenges and issues to overcome, including complying with the immigration laws while not violating the civil rights laws. More importantly, many American workers resent the fact their employer is hiring foreign individuals rather than giving these opportunities to American workers.
