Trying to undo the Missouri Plan

During his entire term in the Missouri General Assembly, Sen. Jim Lembke and like-minded conservative Republicans have tried to overturn the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan for choosing state appellate and metropolitan circuit court judges.

During the term of Gov. Matt Blunt, reformers tried but failed to get enough support to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot. Now a scaled-down version has received House approval and is headed for the Senate. Chances are it will get on the ballot.
