Board of Governors Unanimously Vote to Oppose Amendment 3
"Unnecessarily Politicizes Selection Process of Judges to Appellate and Supreme Court"
Rule 7, Preamble: Rule 4 states that it is the “responsibility of the members of the Bar of this Court and of all lawyers who practice in the State of Missouri” to “strive at all times to uphold the honor and maintain the dignity of the profession and to improve not only the law but the administration of justice.”
The Board of Governors met on September 5 and voted unanimously to actively oppose Amendment 3, a proposed constitutional amendment on the November ballot that would unnecessarily politicize the selection of judges for the state’s appellate and supreme court and negatively impact the administration of justice in Missouri.
