Visit Your Clients

This tip is provided by Dee Crocker of the Oregon State Bar Professional Liability Fund.

Occasionally meeting a client at their office or other "home" turf instead of your office is an empowering gesture that clients really appreciate; it helps solidify the attorney-client relationship. (Not charging for the travel time also helps!)

If you need directions to get there, here is a neat trick if you use Outlook. Click open the client's contact information screen. Then click the yellow road sign on the contact screen toolbar (or the yellow Map icon in Outlook 2007). Your web browser will automatically take you to Bing.com and a map to the client's address.
