HB 57 – Unlawful detention of
citizens. Prohibits a state agency or political subdivision or a
member of the Missouri National Guard from knowingly aiding an agency of the
United States armed forces in specified unlawful detention of a citizen.
HB 73 / HB 88 – Drug courts and
veterans treatment courts. Changes who may be accepted by a drug
court and allows a circuit court to establish a veterans treatment court to
dispose of a case stemming from substance abuse or mental illness of a current
military member or a veteran. In scope. Support concept of drug courts;

HB 113 / SS SCS SB 116 –
Uniformed Military Voters Act. Establishes the Uniformed Military
Voters Act. Among other provisions, allows a covered voter to register to vote
while overseas and to request ballots using state of federal applications;
creates procedures for registration and communication with election
HCS HB 114 – Educational credits
for military training. Requires institutions of higher education to
award educational credits to a veteran for certain courses that were a part of
his or her military training or service, where the courses meet the standards
of the American Council of Education or equivalent standards.
HB 148 / SB 110 – Custody and
visitation for deploying parents. Establishes the custody and
visitation rights of a deploying military parent. In scope. Support concept
of special procedures to protect due process for deployed parents while
preserving judicial discretion to protect the best interest of the child.
HCS HB 159 – Allows an
exemption from the proof of residency or domicile requirement to register a
child for school whose parent or guardian is serving on specified active duty
HCS HB 168 / HCS SCS SB 117 –
Residency for veterans. Allows an individual who is separating from
the military to have resident student status for admission and tuition purposes
at a public institution of higher education under specified circumstances.
HCS HBs 309 & 73 – Military Veterans and
Servicemembers Court Program. Establishes the Military Veterans and
Servicemembers Court Program to provide treatment and intervention to veterans
and service members charged or convicted of certain crimes.
HB 355 – Hunting permits for
military. Exempts active duty military personnel from the hunter
education and safety training and course requirements for issuance of a hunting
permit by the Department of Conservation.
HJR 3 – Property tax exemption
for military. Proposes a constitutional amendment authorizing an
exemption for certain property from personal property tax for active-duty
military personnel stationed outside the country.
SCS SB 106 – Educational and
licensing credits for military courses. Requires higher education
institutions to accept credits for military courses if the courses meet certain
standards; requires that military members with health-related professional
licenses or certificated that are in good standing when entering active duty
will remain in good standing while on active duty; allows military service, if
satisfactory to the professional licensing boards, to be applied toward
qualifications to receive a license or certificate from the board.
