HB 1074 – Supplemental property damage coverage. Allows an insured motorist to purchase supplemental property damage coverage not currently included in an uninsured motorist policy.
HB 1113 – Contracts for construction work. (See Construction Law)
HB 1124 – Total loss coverage. Requires an insurer to pay a claimant for the total face value amount of an insurance policy for any total loss or damage by any peril of covered property without claiming a diminished value of the property.
HB 1184 – Financial responsibility. Specifies that any person who fails to provide proof of motor vehicle financial responsibility will have the vehicle he or she is operating impounded until valid proof is provided and all fees are paid.
HB 1349 – Irrevocable life insurance trusts. (See Probate &Trust Law)
HB 1406 – Credit scores. Changes the laws regarding the use of credit information when underwriting insurance contracts and prohibits insurers from taking adverse actions based on a person’s credit report or insurance score.
HCS HB 1495 – Reporting insurance fraud. Changes the laws regarding liability for reporting insurance fraud.
HB 1658 – Financial responsibility. Changes the penalty for a person who fails to maintain motor vehicle financial responsibility.
HB 1745 – Insurer intervention in civil cases. Allows insurers to intervene in any civil case in which they may be obligated to provide a defense or indemnity for any judgment rendered in the action. No position.
SB 440/SB 886 – Regulation of malpractice associations. Subjects 383 malpractice associations to stricter surplus and solvency regulations.
SB 505 – Use of premium percentages. Requires health carriers to devote a certain percentage of health insurance premiums to be used for the payment of health care services.
SB 507 – Required insurance coverage for breast health. Requires health insurance policies to cover ultrasound screenings where mammograms demonstrate dense breast tissue.
SB 515 – Group health policies. Requires the director of the Department of Insurance to prescribe by rule uniform application forms for group health insurance policies.
SB 593 – Reimbursement of athletic trainers. Prohibits health carriers from denying reimbursement to licensed athletic trainers who provide covered services within their scope of practice.
SB 616 – Sinkhole coverage. Requires homeowner insurance companies to offer sinkhole coverage.
SB 620 – Life and health insurance. Modifies various provisions related to health and life insurance.
SB 624/SB 866 – MEM. Requires Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Company to transition into a private mutual insurance company by January 1,2014.
SB 697 – Civil immunity for insurers in fraud investigations.Expands the civil immunity provided to insurers for furnishing information related to insurance fraud investigations.
