Administrative Law and Licensing
HB 255 – Private Attorney Retention Act. Establishes the Private Attorney Retention Act which specifies the procedures state agencies or agents must follow when retaining a lawyer or law firm to perform legal services under certain conditions.
HCS HB 265 / SB 325 – Notification of employers of license discipline status. Requires any board, commission, committee, council, or office in the Division of Professional Registration to notify any known current employer of a change in a licensee’s license or discipline status.
HB 488 – Driver’s examinations. Requires driver’s license examinations to only be administered in English and establishes a $15 fee for an applicant to take the written portion of the examination.
HB 524 / SB 395 – Regulation of bail bond agents. Changes the laws regarding the regulation of bail bond agents; prohibits employees, contractors or volunteers of a court or law enforcement agency from being licensed as a bail bond agent; increases training requirements for licensure; prohibits felons from making an application for licensure; other regulations and provisions.

HCS HB 697 / SB 350 – Automatic termination of administrative rules. Specifies that any administrative rule proposed, adopted, or amended by a state agency after August 28, 2011, must automatically terminate six years after its effective date.
HB 732 / SB 303 – Disciplinary and administrative procedures. Changes the laws regarding disciplinary and administrative procedures applying to professions and businesses regulated by the Division of Professional Registration.
