Supreme Court Rule Changes

In an order dated April 22, 1998, the Missouri Supreme Court repealed subdivision (b)(2) of subdivision 8.08, entitled "The Bar Examination" of Supreme Court Rule 8 (Admission to the Bar) and in lieu thereof adopted a new subdivision (b)(2) of subdivision 8.08 entitled "The Bar Examination."

The order was immediately effective.

The Missouri Supreme Court in an order dated May 15, 1998, repealed "Committee Note ­ 1979" to subdivision 30.06, entitled "Briefs ­ Contents ­ Time for Service and Filings," of Supreme Court Rule 30 (Appellate Procedure in all Criminal Cases).

In the same order the Court repealed subdivision 43.01(c), entitled "Service ­ How and by Whom Made," of Supreme Court Rule 43 (Service and Filing of Pleadings and Papers) and in lieu of adopted a new subdivision 43.01(c) , entitled "Service ­ How and by Whom Made."

The Court, in the same order, repealed subdivision 57.07, entitled "Use of Depositions in Court Proceedings," of Supreme Court Rule 57 (Interrogatories and Depositions) and adopted in its place a new subdivision 57.07, entitled "Use of Depositions in Court Proceedings."

In the same order the Court repealed subdivision 74.08, entitled "Lien of Judgment," of Supreme Court Rule 74 (Judgments, Orders and Proceedings Thereon) and replaced it with a new subdivision 74.08, entitled "Judgment Lien."

Also in this order, the Court repealed subdivisions (a), (d), (e), (h), (i), and (j) of subdivision 84.04, entitled "Briefs ­ Contents," of Supreme Court Rule 84 (Procedure in All Appellate Courts) and in lieu thereof adopted new subdivisions (a), (d), (e), (h), (i), (j) and (k) of subdivision 84.04, entitled "Briefs ­ Contents."

In the same order, the Court repealed subdivision (a) of subdivision 84.24, entitled "Procedure as to Original Writs," of Supreme Court Rule 84 (Procedure in all Appellate Courts," and adopted in its place a new subdivision (a) of subdivision 84.24, entitled "Procedure as to Original Writs."

The Court, in the same order, repealed Supreme Court Rule 90 (Garnishments and Sequestration) consisting of subdivisions 90.01 and 90.22, inclusive, and the Committee notes thereto, and in lieu thereof adopted a new Supreme Court Rule 90 (Garnishments and Sequestrations) consisting of subdivisions 90.01 and 90.16, inclusive.

The order becomes effective January 1, 1999.
