Daniel Lohse has joined Brinker & Doyen, L.L.P., as an associate. Mr. Lohse is a 2009 graduate of University of Illinois College of Law.  He will practice in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, products liability and restaurant liability.

Michael P. McGinley has joined Lashly & Baer, P.C. as an associate.  Mr. McGinley holds a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and practices in the areas of business litigation, general litigation and transportation litigation. He is a 1997 graduate of Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in English. Michael is currently the President of the Board for the St. Paul Catholic School, a board member of the Highland Splash Swim Team, and a chairperson for the St. Paul Catholic Church Kirchenfest. Harness, Dickey is pleased to announce that Steven E. Holtshouser has joined the firm’s St. Louis, MO office as an intellectual property Of Counsel.
Mr. Holtshouser has tried more than 40 complex cases to verdict in federal court and has briefed and argued more than 35 appeals at the federal level, including an en banc argument before the Eighth Circuit. As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, Mr. Holtshouser has a perfect record of success in first-chair jury trials and appeals. Mr. Holtshouser’s cases have included intellectual property, public corruption, tax, international narcotics and violence, financial fraud, and corporate cases. He also first-chaired a number of civil capital habeas bench trials. In addition to the Eastern District of Missouri, Mr. Holtshouser has practiced in a number of other federal judicial districts throughout the country and in the international Royal Court of Jersey. He began his legal career as a law clerk for United States District Chief Judge John F. Nangle, Jr., Eastern District of Missouri. Mr. Holtshouser currently focuses on Intellectual Property Litigation where his wealth of trial and federal court experiences provide him with unique perspectives and abilities which he brings to bear for his clients. Mr. Holtshouser works closely with his clients to investigate claims and defenses, develop strategies for technology cases and to represent his clients in court to achieve optimal results. Similarly, Mr. Holtshouser is skilled in assisting judges and juries in understanding complex evidentiary and legal issues to achieve verdicts in his client’s favor. He has a J. D. from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.A. in Political Science from St. Louis University.

Lawyers Realty Co., LLC was recently formed by long time attorney and commercial real estate industry veteran, David Wright.  Mr. Wright, who is a graduate of St. Louis University’s School of Law and School of Business (JD / MBA – 1988) as well as Indiana University – Bloomington, IN (school of business 1985), has been in the commercial real estate industry since 1989, having spent a year or so with the former Leo Eisenberg Co in St. Louis and the last 21 years as an executive or president of another real estate brokerage, development and property management firm .  Several months ago, mr. Wright decided to and started Lawyers Realty as a platform to provide clients with the highest quality and most professional level of commercial real estate services.

Kansas City Area
Husch Blackwell welcomes Senior Counsel Karin M. Jacoby, P.E., as an attorney to its Kansas City, Mo., office. Ms. Jacoby will concentrate her practice on Levee & Flood Control matters as a member the firm’s Real Estate, Development & Construction industry group. She brings 25 years of experience in water resources and public works, as well as national-level policy expertise. Ms. Jacoby is a member of the National Committee on Levee Safety. She was appointed by the Assistant Secretary of the Army of Civil Works to represent local/regional interests on the Committee, which was created by Congress in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. She also served on the National Academy of Sciences levee committee that authored the recently released report for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Levees and the National Flood Insurance Program: Improving Policies and Practices. Ms. Jacoby has been the Executive Director of the Missouri and Associated Rivers Coalition (MOARC) since 2001. This long-standing nonprofit was formed following the ravaging local floods of 1951 to advocate for flood control and water conservation, and continues with that mission today. In 2009, Ms. Jacoby founded Spica Consulting LLC, an engineering and flood-risk management firm. A professional engineer registered in both Missouri and Illinois, she was previously employed by the City of Kansas City, Mo., as an Assistant City Engineer and Division Manager. Jacoby led the City’s waterways program, working closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on projects such as the Blue River Channel Modification, Turkey Creek/Tunnel, and Brush Creek Flood Control and Beautification. While working for the City of Kansas City, Jacoby earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law (2006)) and her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (1999). Initially upon receiving her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, now known as Missouri University of Science and Technology (1985), Jacoby worked as a Design Engineer and Project Manager for the St. Louis-based firm Booker Associates Inc. (1986-1995).
