YLS Council Elections
There are contested YLS elections in Districts 1, 4, 6, 9, and 11.
The contested district election is as follows:
*Automatically retained as an officer of the Young Lawyers’ Section Council
**There will also be a special election (held in conjunction with the general election) to fill a one-year term in District 9 as the result of a resignation from the Council. Therefore, there will be three people elected in District 9, with the person who receives the third-highest number of votes taking the one-year term.
Voting will not be necessary in Districts 3, 7, 8, 10, 13 and 14 where the number of lawyers running for a council position does not exceed the number of vacancies in the district. The uncontested nominees in these districts are:
Nomination and election procedures for members of the Council are established pursuant to Article III, section 6 of the Bylaws of The Missouri Bar’s Young Lawyers’ Section. Nominations to the Council shall be made by petition or petitions signed by not less than five members of The Missouri Bar in good standing, enrolled and entitled to vote in the respective districts from which the member or members of the Council are to be elected.
