Raymond Fournie, an Armstrong Teasdale litigation partner, has been elected vice-chairman of the Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis (The Muny) Board of Directors, putting him in line for the position of chairman in 2015-2016. In addition, Steve Jones, an Armstrong Teasdale Business Services partner, has been named secretary of the Muny Board. A nationally recognized asbestos defense lawyer, Mr. Fournie has handled cases throughout the country with a concentration in Madison County, Illinois. His more than two decades of experience encompasses toxic tort, products liability, medical malpractice and construction-related litigation and includes serving as national trial counsel for a major asbestos defendant. Fournie earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and B.A. from the University of Illinois. He is a member of The Missouri Bar and Illinois State Bar Association. Ranked by Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Mr. Jones’ practice encompasses a broad range of business law and services in the areas of corporate organization, finance and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and business succession. He earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law and B.A. from Yale University. Jones is also a member of The Missouri Bar and Maine Bar Association.
Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Gibbons, a partner in its St. Louis office, was named the 2012 Citizen of the Year by the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce. The Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce honored Mr. Gibbons as well as the recipients of the Volunteer of the Year, Businessperson of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards on Feb. 1 during the 67th Annual Installation and Awards Gala. A lifelong resident of Kirkwood, Mr. Gibbons has been involved in the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce for 30 years and served on its Board of Directors. After law school, he practiced with his father at the Kirkwood-based Gibbons Law Firm and he began his political career on the Kirkwood City Council. He was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives and then the Missouri Senate, where he concluded his tenure as president pro tem. He has also served on the Board of Governors at Des Peres Hospital and the Board of Stages St. Louis. He has been a trustee for the State Historical Society of Missouri, an adjunct professor at Westminster College and a director of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. Mr. Gibbons is a member of Stinson’s Government Solutions practice group. He is as an advocate for clients on issues they face at the intersection of government, law and politics in Missouri. He received his undergraduate degree from Westminster College in 1981 and his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1984.
Mark Wicker has joined Brinker & Doyen, L.L.P., as an associate. Mr. Wicker is a 2012 graduate of University of Texas School of Law. He will practice in the areas of automobile litigation, civil litigation, insurance defense and premises liability.
