The U.S. District Court seeks applications for an eight-year appointment as U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. The position is headquartered in St. Louis. Applications are due by August 28. (More)
Social media use by jurors, and the problems resulting from it, remains a relatively infrequent occurrence, according to a survey of U.S. district judges. Nearly 500 judges in all 94 districts responded to a Federal Judicial Center survey assessing jurors’ use of social media. (More)

Presentations Set for Awards Luncheon at Annual Meeting on September 10
Hon. Jon R. Gray, former Missouri Bar President Dale C. Doerhoff and Nancy Mogab will receive this year’s Spurgeon Smithson Awards for significant contributions to the administration of justice. Scotland County Associate Circuit Judge Karl DeMarce will receive the W. Oliver Rasch Award.

Attorneys were on hand to help veterans with family law, non-felony criminal and collections/bankruptcy matters at a Missouri Bar Veterans Clinic being piloted today at the Truman VA Medical Center in Columbia.
