Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard is proud to announce the establishment of a new firm office in Overland Park, Kansas, in the suburbs of Kansas City. The new location will allow clients throughout Missouri and Kansas increased access to the firm’s resources and attorneys, helping them meet all their legal needs closer to home. Located in the Southcreek Office Park, the Overland Park location is minutes from Downtown Kansas City. The office will be managed by Mark Murphy, an attorney who comes to Sandberg Phoenix with more than 25 years of legal experience in the Kansas City area. Mark is an experienced litigator with a substantial background in business law, transactions, commercial and business disputes, construction disputes and real estate transactions. The office will also serve as Sandberg Phoenix’s primary conduit for business development and client service in the area, and will be home to attorneys serving clients with business and business litigation needs.
Sanders Warren & Russell LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Tyler C. Hibler, Tricia A. Nibarger and Ryan R. Cox as Associates. Mr. Hibler received his J.D. from Kansas University in 2008 and his B.A. from Baker University in 2005. He will focus his practice primarily in personal injury, professional liability, construction and employment litigation. Ms. Nibarger received her J.D. from Kansas University in 2010 and her B.A. from Baker University in 2008. She will focus her practice primarily in insurance defense litigation, commercial and construction litigation. Mr. Cox received his J.D. from Drake University Law School in 1998 and his B.A. from Ripon College in 1995. He will focus his practice primarily in insurance defense litigation, professional liability defense, coverage disputes, and employment litigation.
St. Louis Area
Matt Kitzi, a former Missouri Commissioner of Securities, has joined Armstrong Teasdale as a partner. Mr. Kitzi is a member of the firm’s Corporate Services practice group and works regularly from the firm’s St. Louis and Jefferson City offices. His public service experience gives him unique perspectives and the ability to offer practical, insightful and business-oriented solutions for clients in the areas of securities regulation, financial services, government affairs, corporate operations and business planning strategies. In addition to counseling clients in the securities and financial services industry, he also serves those in a wide array of business sectors. He worked for Armstrong Teasdale from 2000 – 2005, and then joined the administration of Secretary of State Robin Carnahan, who appointed him Commissioner of Securities in December 2005. As commissioner, Kitzi established a national profile among securities regulators and the securities industry, serving as Chair of the National Auction Rate Securities Investigations Task Force for the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA), Chair of NASAA's Dodd-Frank Studies Working Group and, for three years, as Chair of NASAA's Enforcement Section. He has also served on NASAA's Board of Directors in 2012. Mr. Kitzi earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and B.S. in International Business from Northwest Missouri State University.
