RICHARD C. WUESTLING, IV (Rick) – is the senior partner of Wuestling & James, L.C., which was established in 1962 by Rick’s father, Richard C. Wuestling, III, and the Honorable Harry M. James. Rick leads the firm’s practice in legal malpractice defense, insurance coverage questions, extra-contractual liability, personal injury defense, and construction and design liability. He has tried over 60 jury trials to conclusion and is attorney of record in more than 25 appeals.
After a short five and one-half (5 ½) years of practice after graduating from Washburn University School of Law, Rick obtained recognition by his peers when he was rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell.
Rick is one of the Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Legal Malpractice Defense and Personal Injury Defense. He is also a member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, DRI and the DRI Trucking Law Committee, the Lawyer's Association of St. Louis and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
While mainly practicing in the federal and state courts in Missouri and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, Rick is enrolled to appear before the United States Supreme Court. He has also represented clients in several arbitrations held under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association and other arbitration forums.
Rick is often a presenter at CLE seminars on the subject of ethics. Lawyers and law firms seek his advice and direction on ethics issues and is retained by lawyers to represent them in bar complaint matters.
MATTHEW J. ROSSITER – is a partner at Rossiter & Boock, LLC in Clayton, Missouri. He focuses his practice on fiduciary litigation, civil litigation, estate planning and probate administration. He has tried cases throughout Missouri, representing trustees, personal representatives, and claimants in all areas of estate administration. He has represented business owners and individuals in a diverse range of civil litigation matters, including personal injury cases. In 2005, Mr. Rossiter received the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the St. Louis County Bar Association. He has argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on litigation, probate administration and estate planning. Matt is a member of the Steering Committee for the BAMSL Probate and Trust Section and is a past chair of that section. He is a founder of the annual Fiduciary Litigation Seminar sponsored by BAMSL, and has presented each of the last three years. He also serves on the St. Louis County Probate Advisory Committee. Mat has been published in The St. Louis Bar Journal (Representing Claimants in Probate Estates: Bad Things Can Happen to Good Lawyers. Fall, 2003). In addition, he is a member of the Lawyers Association of St. Louis, the St. Louis County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar. Matt is a former prosecuting attorney for the City of Maplewood and the City of Manchester, and has served as a provisional prosecutor for the City of Chesterfield. He has also served as Provisional Judge in Manchester and Ballwin. Matt received his undergraduate degree in business administration/finance from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law. Matt lives in Richmond Heights with his wife Maia Brodie and four children.
AMY HOCH HOGENSON – practices law at Paule, Camazine and Blumenthal, P.C. in Clayton, handling the full spectrum of family law issues.
Amy gained broad-based experience early in her career at Helfrey, Neiers & Jones, P.C. trying bench and jury cases in numerous state courts and in a wide variety of matters including breach of contract, product liability, personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance defense, and family law cases. She also appeared before state appellate courts and in federal court. Amy has argued successfully before both the Missouri and Illinois Courts of Appeals.
Amy is a member of the St. Louis County Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Women Lawyer’s Association. Amy has demonstrated her passion for practicing law by serving as coach and adjunct faculty for the St. Louis University School of Law, and as mock trial coach for Westminster Christian Academy. A 2001 St. Louis University School of Law graduate, Amy received honors for “Best Oralist” and “Best Brief.” As board member for young Variety and volunteer for Legal Advocates for Abused Women, Mentor St. Louis, and Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Amy acknowledges the importance of giving back to the legal community.
Amy has been nominated for the Lon O. Hocker Award, Up and Coming Lawyers, and has been named a Rising Star for the national “Superlawyers.” The awards recognize attorneys who have demonstrated superior trial skill and practice, integrity, and leadership.
