Judge Essner was appointed associate circuit judge in July 1999.
For more than twenty years Judge Essner was an attorney for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and was responsible for direction of the Volunteer Lawyers Program.
Judge Essner is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the St. Louis County Bar Association, the Lawyers Association, Women Lawyers Association and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
Judge Essner resides in St. Louis County with his family.
