Kathleen DuBois is Managing Attorney for the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri Family Court Project. She received her J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law (Tucson) in 1987. She represented clients as a public defender in felony cases from 1987 through 1989, then for six years litigated felony appeals for Tucson’s alternative public defender’s appellate office. She has also prosecuted white-collar criminal cases for the Securities Division of the Arizona Corporation Commission, and for two years represented clients in securities matters for Bryan Cave LLC’s St. Louis office. She is admitted to practice in the state of Missouri and before the United States Supreme Court. Her clients have ranged from multi-national financial institutions to inmates on Arizona’s death row, to homeless mothers, and she has authored more than 90 appellate briefs.
Ms. Dubois’s memberships include the St. Louis Women Lawyers’ Association (WLA) where for five years she has served as Board Member at Large, the Ethical Society of St. Louis, and various organizations aimed at supporting the legal needs of victims of domestic violence as well as of other indigent citizens of Missouri. She teaches Legal Research and Writing in the Legal Studies program at STLCC-Meramec. She has been active in the Legislative Committee of WLA for eight years, is a member of the Juvenile Law section of the Missouri Bar, and received the WLA President’s Award in 2005 for her work representing mothers and battered women in the Missouri juvenile court system. In her present practice she represents parents with children under the jurisdiction of the St. Louis County Family Court, and often litigates their related administrative cases. |
