Leonard P. Cervantes

Mr. Leonard P. Cervantes is a trial attorney with the firm of Cervantes & Associates in St. Louis, Missouri, who has handled plaintiffs personal injury lawsuits for the past thirty years. He has tried numerous lawsuits involving general tort cases, medical malpractice, product liability, FELA and insurance claims including nearly every variety of premises liability case. 

He is a 1970 graduate of St. Ambrose University. He graduated from St. Louis University School of Law in 1973. He was admitted to practice in Iowa and Missouri in 1973. 

He is past President of the Lawyers Association of St. Louis and serves on the Board of Governors on the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA). He also serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM). He has served on various committees of the Missouri Bar and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL). He has lectured at numerous CLE seminars and trial demonstrations, including The Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) Trial Practice Course, MATA Annual Convention and Seminars, Lawyers Association Seminars, BAMSL Seminars and the St. Louis County Bar Association Annual Trial Demonstration.  He has authored numerous articles including “Failure to Provide a Safe Place to Work under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act.” 

In 2001, he received the Special Service Award from Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.  In 2002, he received the first Trial Lawyer Public Service Award from the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.  In 2004, he received the Equal Justice Award from Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.  He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and Super Lawyers of Missouri.
