YLS Committee Issues Best Practices for Going Green
Friends of the environment would be appalled at the daily amount of needless waste and pollution generated by a typical law firm. From printing worthless pages to leaving lights on overnight, law firms are in dire need of direction on how to ‘go green’.
Your YLS has taken this issue head on. In conjunction with the respected firms of Armstrong Teasdale, LLP, Lathrop Gage, and Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C., YLS’s Going Green Committee has issued a comprehensive list of Best Practices to help Missouri lawyers cut back on waste and inefficiency.
The Best Practices are organized into six main categories: (1) Developing a Program; (2) Understanding Your Firm’s Paper Usage; (3) Steps to Conserve Energy and Reduce Waste; (4) Changing Your Environment; (5) Changing the Way You Travel; and (6) Recycling.
YLS encourages all members of the Bar to enact these Best Practices within their firms. In addition, the Going Green Committee welcomes any suggestions to improve on the Best Practices.
