Mr. Tim Dollar was born on October 16, 1959. He attended the University of Kansas and received a B.G.S. Degree in 1981. He then attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and earned his J.D. Degree in 1984. Mr. Dollar is a special assistant prosecutor in homicide and capital litigation at the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office and has been since 1984. From 1986 through 2000, Mr. Dollar was a partner and a civil trial lawyer at Stigall, Humphrey, Lucas, Henry, Stigall & Dollar, L.C. In 2001, he became the founding partner and a civil trial lawyer at The Law Offices of Tim Dollar, LC, which changed to Dollar, Burns & Becker, LC, in 2007. Since 1984, Mr. Dollar has 250 jury trials under his belt. His experience in expert testimony includes Schorey v. Tolin, in St. Louis County, Missouri, in 2007; and W.W. Transport, Inc. v. Gem City Ford, Inc., et al, in the Eastern Dist. of Missouri, in 2009.

Mr. Dollar has made appearances in many different courts around the United States including: the Missouri Supreme, Appellate, and Circuit Courts, the U. S. District Court for Western District of Missouri, U. S. District Court for Michigan, the U. S. District Court for Hawaii, the State Court for Hawaii, the U. S. District Court for Kansas, the State Court for Kansas, the U.S. District Court for North Carolina, the State Court for Texas, and the State Court in Illinois. Mr. Dollar has written one article, "Combating the Risk of the Procedure Defense in Medical Malpractice Cases," which was written in 1997.

Mr. Tim Dollar has given many lectures over the years, which include: "Pornography and the First Amendment - The Prosecutor's View" at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law given from 1989-1992; "Cross Examination of Defendants in Homicide Cases" at the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in 1990; "Damages in the Medical Malpractice Case" at a KCMBA CLE in 1991; "Capital Litigation from the Prosecutor's Viewpoint" at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and "Litigation Paralegal Seminar" at Specialty Seminars, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri in 1993; "The Use of Examinations Under Oath in Insurance Fraud Investigations" at the Association of Insurance Special Investigators, Overland Park, Kansas in 1995; “Opening Statements & Closing Arguments” - Motions Advocacy and “Taking, Defending and Using Depositions” at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law – CLE in 1999; “Effective Use of Written Discovery” and “Role of the LNC in Nursing Home Negligence” at the Annual Conference for Legal Nurse Consultants in 2000; “Changes to the Rules of Evidence Rules 103, 701, 702, 703, 803, & 902” and “Taking the Deposition of the Other Side’s Experts” at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law – CLE and “Nursing Home Litigation: Practical Considerations of Filing, Discovery & Trial” at the MATA Annual Convention – CLE in 2001; “Technology in Court” at the Clay County Bar Association – CLE in 2002; “Nursing Home Litigation” at the ATLA Conference, Montreal, Canada in 2005; “Trucking Litigation & D.O.T. Regulations Seminar” at Lorman Education Services in 2006; “Business Development: Choosing and Keeping the Right Clients” at the Kansas City Metro Bar Association – “Breakfast at the Bar” series, “Grab Your Case by the Horns: Hot Tips for Getting a Rope Around Traffic Accident & MIST Cases” at the Missouri Bar Association Solo & Small Firm Conference – CLE, and “Ethical Issues in Mediation for Lawyers” at the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers Annual Convention – CLE in 2007.

Tim Dollar’s activities and honors include the following: 1984 – National Moot Court Team - National Competitions, Selected National Moot Court Team Kansas City Regional Competition Finalist, Selected National Trial Team Member, Semi-Final Regional Competition; 1984-2006 – Adjunct Professor of Law - Fundamentals of Trial Advocacy, University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law ; 1985/1986 – Coordinator/Presenter - In-House Continuing Legal Education Program (coordinated an in-house program of mock trials for new prosecutors) Jackson County Prosecutor's Office; 1987-2006 – Adjunct Professor of Law - Trial Advocacy II University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law; 1996 – Awarded Lon O.
