Too many negotiations break down for the wrong reasons. Negotiating impasse is not always caused by difficult issues; oftentimes, impasse is created by difficult people. Many of the roadblocks that stall negotiation are the result of simple things like personality clashes, posturing, unbridled emotions, poor communication, and lack of creativity. Any consideration of how to break a negotiating impasse must take into account the human factor. This workshop will help you avert impasse by understanding the interpersonal dynamics that contribute to difficult negotiations. You will learn how to recognize, respond, and remove the roadblocks that hinder your progress toward negotiation success.
