Matt Schelp brings proven expertise as an experienced trial attorney. As a federal prosecutor, he specialized in white-collar prosecution and held the distinction of being the Securities Fraud Coordinator and the Deputy Healthcare Fraud Coordinator for the Eastern District of Missouri. In those positions, Matt successfully prosecuted cases that involved public corruption, bank fraud, healthcare fraud and tax fraud. Missouri Lawyers Weekly named him one of its Up and Coming Attorneys in 2007.

In private practice Matt has litigated a variety of diverse civil litigation matters and has represented corporations and individuals in criminal investigations and proceedings involving allegations of securities fraud, tax violations and bank, wire and healthcare fraud. Matt focuses his practice on white-collar defense, corporate compliance and litigation.

Prior to joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Matt worked as an associate at Thompson Coburn, LLP and Husch and Eppenberger, LLC. At these firms, he specialized in commercial and healthcare litigation and worked on significant patent litigation and trial.

Matt served four years active duty in the Navy Judge Advocate Generals Corps and continues to serve in the Navy Reserve. Matt has successfully argued cases before United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
