Hon. Peggy D. Richardson

Richardson, PeggyJudge Richardson was born in Versailles, Morgan County, Missouri on October 8, 1957. She is the 11th of 13 children and has lived her entire life in a rural community. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri, a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Central Missouri, and an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from State Fair Community College. 

For fifteen years she practiced law and then was elected Associate Circuit Judge in 1998. She has been re-elected to that position in 2002, 2006 and 2010.

Judge Richardson is a member of the First Baptist Church of Tipton where she serves as treasurer and adult bible study teacher. She supports charitable organizations including St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society, World Vision and the Girl Scouts. She serves on the board of the Missouri Baptist Foundation and Co-Mo Cares Trust. 

Honors and awards include the Surgeon General’s Certificate of Appreciation (for organ donation), Girl Scout award, State Fair Community College - Distinguished Alumni, Missouri Community College Association - Distinguished Alumni and, most recently, the Women’s Justice Award (Public Official).
