Judge Deborah Daniels, Associate Circuit Judge, Division XI, was elected to the office in 2006 and re-elected in 2010. Judge Daniels is, by local court rule, the judge of the Probate Court and is responsible for decedent's estates, and guardianship and conservatorships in that division. In addition, Division XI handles general civil and criminal dockets. Judge Daniels is a graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law and was an adjunct professor of law. She serves as a member of the Missouri Supreme Court's Committee on Procedure in Criminal Cases, ASTAR Trial Judge Committee, and the Court Automation Committee. She has lectured at the Missouri Judicial College, and at other CLE's throughout the state. Prior to becoming a judge, Judge Daniels was an assistant prosecuting attorney in Boone County and an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri. She is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the Boone County Bar Association and the Women's Lawyers Association of Mid-Missouri. In 2009, Judge Daniels received the ASTAR (Advance Science and Technology Adjudication Resource) award for completing 120 hours of court-related science and technology training and was inducted as an ASTAR fellow.
