Suzette Carlisle

Suzette CarlisleJudge Suzette Carlisle worked in the public sector for 15 years before earning a law degree and Certificate in Employment Law from St. Louis University.  She began her legal career as a criminal defense attorney and later became an Assistant Circuit Attorney.  For eight years she served as a legal advisor/associate administrative law judge with the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation in St. Louis.  She was appointed to serve as an administrative law judge in 2005.

Judge Carlisle earned certificates in Judicial Development and Dispute Resolution for Administrative Law Judges from the National Judicial College.  In 2013 she plans to complete the requirements for a Masters’ degree in Judicial Studies from the University of Nevada-Reno.

Judge Carlisle’s work with The Missouri Bar includes Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Committee (2004-06), membership in the Leadership Academy Class of 2004-05, member of the Legal Education Committee, and the 2007 Annual Meeting planning committee.  She has been active in community activities including Mentor St. Louis, Focus St. Louis Class of 2005-06, Sue Shear Institute, Mound City Bar, BAMSL, and the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis.
