Workers' Compensation Law Committee - Minutes for May 11, 2012

The meeting was called to order by Judge Wilson at 10:00 a.m.

Topics reported and/or discussed and members reporting:

Hon. David Zerrer, Administrative Law Judge, Division of Workers' Compensation of the Missouri Department of Labor & Industrial Relations, provided an update and comments relating to the Division of Workers' Compensation and potential workers' compensation legislation.

Committee & Subcommittees Reports: Judge Wilson offered a brief discussion of the committee's and subcommittee's leadership, structure, functions, policy and 2012 activity.  (Tim Wilson, Chair)

MoBarCLE - Annual Workers' Compensation Institute for 2012: A brief discussion was held regarding the seminar presentations held in Kansas City and St. Louis, and members who had not attended either of these two seminars were encouraged to attend one of the seminar presentations scheduled in Columbia, Springfield or Cape Girardeau. (Christina Hammers, Esq., Program Planning Co-Chair)

CLE Presentation - "Practice Questions Answered - Third Party Action, Workers' Compensation Claim, or Both?" & "Where do we stand in Missouri? - Seeking Enforcement of Final Workers' Compensation Awards: What happens when the appeals are over and the parties must comply with the requirements of the Award?" (Patrick J. Platter, Esq.) This seminar provided 1.0 CLE credit.
