The David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Awards were created by the Missouri Bar Foundation to recognize outstanding achievement in appellate practice by young lawyer members of The Missouri Bar. The award is named after the late Judge Dixon, whose tenacity, professionalism and judicial skills epitomize outstanding appellate practice. Three lawyers are selected each year, one each from St. Louis, Kansas City and outstate Missouri. Nominations are due Monday, April 1. Who Can You Nominate?Any member of The Missouri Bar who meets the description above and is under 40 years of age as of September 30 during the year in which the award is being presented. Once you have received the award, you are not eligible for future consideration. (List of Past Recipients) What Happens After I Submit a Nomination?After we receive your nomination form, The Missouri Bar will send the nominee a form to fill out, requesting information and details that will be used by the Missouri Bar Foundation to select the 2013 award recipients.
