Deanna K. Scott

Scott, DeannaSpringfield attorney Deanna Scott is Director of Litigation for Legal Services of Southern Missouri. She was formerly in private practice with Twibell, Johnson, Johnson and Garrison in Springfield for a number of years. Deanna obtained her B.S. at Missouri State U., and her J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tulsa Journal of Comparative & International Law.

As Director of Litigation, she oversees litigation in LSSM's 43-county service area, assists staff attorneys with cases, works with the Executive Director on various Legal Services projects, and personally handles cases primarily in the areas of family, probate, and general civil law.

Deanna, a native of Cabool, MO, has served on the MO Bar Board of Governors, representing attorneys in the Southern Appellate Court District. Also, in 2008, Deanna was appointed by the MO Supreme Court to its Committee on Access to Family Courts. MO Bar President Vogel recently appointed Deanna to the Special Committee to Assist Lawyers in a Changing Economy. She also served as Chair of The Missouri Bar’s first two annual Pro Bono Summits.

Deanna is a 2000 recipient of both the Missouri Bar's Pro Bono Award and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar's Equal Access to Justice Award. She is also a past recipient of the 2006 Springfield Business Journal's “Twenty Most Influential Women” Award, the 2007 Springfield Metropolitan Bar President's Award, and is a 2010 recipient of the Missouri Lawyers’ Media “Women’s Justice Award”.
