Gary W. Lynch graduated with honors from Southwest Baptist University and then from the University of Missouri—Columbia Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review. He returned to his hometown of Bolivar where he spent 26 years in private law practice before being elected and serving as Associate Circuit Judge of Polk County for three years. He was appointed to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, in January 2006, and served as Chief Judge 2007-2009. He and his wife Dana have been married 38 years; they have two adult sons. He still lives in Bolivar, where he is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bolivar.
