T. Jack Challis is a 1972 honors graduate of St. Louis University School of Law and a 1969 graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He served as law clerk to the Honorable John E. Bardgett of the Supreme Court of Missouri. Challis has been chairman of Enterprise Trust, the trust division of Enterprise Bank in Clayton. He has also been a principal in the Wealth Preservation Group of the St. Louis County law firm of Suelthaus & Walsh, P.C. and was a founding partner of the Nichols & Challis law firm. He is currently a shareholder and chair of the Wealth Planning Group in the St. Louis office of Polsinelli Shughart, P.C. He has served as chair of the Probate and Trust Section of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and as chair of The Missouri Bar’s Probate & Trust Law Committee. He has also served as a member of the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and in Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers. Challis has also been an adjunct professor in the school of law at Saint Louis University. He has served as chair of The Missouri Bar’s Legal Education Committee and was appointed by the Supreme Court of Missouri to serve as general chair of the Region X (St. Louis County) Disciplinary Committee for the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel (OCDC). He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel in 1988 and has served as Missouri state chair for the College. He is also a member of the College’s Fiduciary Litigation Committee. Active in community affairs, Challis has served on the boards of directors of the Alzheimer’s Association of St. Louis (chair), the Missouri Heart Association (chair), and Cardinal Ritter Senior Services.
