Barbara E. Birkicht

Birkicht, BarbaraBarbara E. Birkicht is an assistant city counselor in the Office of the City Counselor of the City of St. Louis, and has been serving the city since 2005.

Born and raised in the City of St. Louis, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a master’s degree in education from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She attended the Washington University School of Law, from which she earned her Juris Doctorate in 1991.

In her private practice, she developed and pursued her interest in municipal government law by serving as a guardian ad litem in the Family Court of St. Louis County and as the prosecuting attorney of the City of Olympian Village.

She is a member of the Women Lawyers’ Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and serves as chair of the Local Government Committee of The Missouri Bar, where she is committed to providing programs useful to municipal government attorneys and joining them together with their counterparts all over the state, whether in person or online.
