What is the Amicus Lex program?

Amicus Lex is our “Friend of the Law” program that connects lawyers who are leaders in their communities with their state legislators. These local connections will allow our members to be a trusted voice to their legislators, providing them with expertise and sharing The Missouri Bar’s position on issues that affect the administration of justice.

Our goal is to engage our members on the local level so they can provide expertise when called upon to help their elected officials understand the impact their decisions have on their communities when it comes to our judiciary and Missouri citizens' access to the courts.

What would I be asked to do?

You will be asked to establish or build upon a connection with the legislator you are assigned. By meeting or communicating regularly with the lawmaker you are partnered with, you can become a trusted resource for them as well as be a strong voice on issues that affect the administration of justice.
