For 15 years, The Missouri Bar has partnered with The
Missouri Press Association to publish law-related
educational content in newspapers throughout the state. Under the direction
of Millie Aulbur, director of citizenship education at The Missouri Bar, more
than 128 civic
education features have been distributed to readers, specifically
school-age children, on topics ranging from the Bill of Rights and voting to
Civil Rights and landmark Supreme Court cases.
During the Missouri Press Association
and the Associated Press Day at the Capitol March 2 in Jefferson City, Missouri
Press Education Director Dawn Kitchell recognized Aulbur and The Missouri Bar
for this work.
“Millie, thanks to you and The Missouri Bar, we believe
Missouri’s newspapers have made a significant impact on educating not just
young readers, but their teachers, parents, grandparents and other newspaper
readers, on the most vital aspects of our country’s founding and civic evolution,”
