HB 1499 (Same as SB 895) - Manufacturer Responsibility and Consumer Convenience Computer Equipment Collection and Recovery Act. Establishes the Manufacturer Responsibility and Consumer Convenience Computer Equipment Collection and Recovery Act which requires manufacturers of specified computer equipment to implement a recovery plan that will enable customers to recycle computer equipment for free and in a convenient manner.

HB 1683 – Internet bullying. (See Criminal Law)

HB 1684 – Missouri Political Cyberfraud Act. Establishes the Missouri Political Cyberfraud Act and creates the crime of political cyberfraud, a Class B misdemeanor. A person commits this crime if he or she intentionally deceives, defrauds, or misleads others about web sites that support or oppose a ballot measure. Prohibited actions include:

(1) Intentionally diverting or redirecting access to a political web site to another person’s web site using similar domain names, meta-tags, or other electronic measures;

(2) Intentionally preventing or denying exit from a political web site through the use of various electronic measures;

(3) Registering a domain name similar to another domain name for a political web site; and

(4) Intentionally preventing the use of a domain name for a political web site by registering and holding or reselling a domain name with the intent of preventing its use.

HB 1702 – Mobile communication devices. Creates the crime of using a mobile communication device while operating a motor vehicle if the driver is younger than eighteen years of age.
