Spring Committee Meetings, May 11, 2007, Jefferson City
March is a time to concentrate on kite flying, “March Madness” and the “wearin’ o’ the green” – all sure signs of warmer days to come. But it is also a sign that The Missouri Bar’s Spring Committee Meetings are drawing near.

It represents the final meeting of the 2006-2007 bar year for most committees, offering their memberships the chance to assess progress and make plans for the final months of the current bar year.

Committee Meetings A rewarding combination of committee work, substantive educational programming and social opportunities, the meetings of The Missouri Bar’s many committees form the basis of most bar initiatives. Through attendance and participation in committee activities, Missouri Bar members make a meaningful contribution to the betterment of the legal profession and the public good.
Service on a Missouri Bar committee provides individual members of the bar with the chance to play a significant role in bar activities – especially the development of legislative proposals and the staging of timely educational programs. In addition, attendance at the Spring Committee Meetings is both personally and professionally rewarding, bringing together lawyers with common interests and concerns.
During the 2007 Spring Committee Meetings, most Missouri Bar committees will meet in either morning or afternoon time blocks on Friday, May 11. Some committees, however, may choose to conduct meetings of a longer duration or convene at other times.
Continuing Legal Education Lawyers attending the Spring Committee Meetings are typically able to take advantage of several educational programs – each carrying MCLE credit – staged by various state bar committees.
Special Events
Between the morning and afternoon meeting time blocks, those attending the 2007 Spring Committee Meetings are invited to enjoy a complimentary noon luncheon featuring remarks by Alan D. Pratzel, the new Chief Disciplinary Counsel.
In addition, the Board of Governors of The Missouri Bar will meet in conjunction with the Spring Committee Meetings. The Board will gather on Friday afternoon, May 11. Along with regular business, the state bar’s governing body will hear reports from various committees and take any necessary actions in connection with those reports.
